About GBV
„A certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him, and went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.“ Luke 10:33-34
Faithful to the divine example of our Good Samaritan, we at GBV endeavour to bring God’s saving love and mercy to mankind, who has “fallen among thieves”. Once the work of salvation has been done in the soul, it is our desire to show the way to “the inn” where spiritual food through sound teaching is provided. Depending on the Lord we are supported by the freewill offerings of His people, as we print Gospel and teaching material in over 50 languages, sent out to the five continents.
After the collapse of the “iron curtain” in Eastern Europe around 1989 we were confronted with many tasks that extended the scope of the "Good Seed" Gospel calendars in numerous languages, a work which had already experienced much blessing during the preceding 25 years. Our encouragement of Christians from Rumania, Poland and the Czech Republic to start publishing in their own countries met with the request that, with our experience, we should undertake this work for them, too. As a result, branches were opened in close co-operation with local brethren in the early 90’s in Rumania, in the Czech Republic and in the Ukraine. In 1997 a permanent collaboration started in Yangon, Myanmar (Burma), which in spite of difficulties has developed into a flourishing branch. The Lord has similarly granted much grace in Ethiopia, not only preserving our fellow-workers in Addis Ababa from the designs of enemies, but also bringing forth much fruit to His honour and glory. Since then, a branch for the Chinese language was opened, as sound material in this language is more and more in demand.
